Configuring bounded workflows inside a product

By Pieter Venter ·
Interactive concept · Fictional tenants and events · No integrations

An exploratory product concept: let a customer tune a small set of workflow rules, publish a version, and see which version a later event used.

Concept status: This is an independent prototype to explore a product direction. It is not a deployed customer feature. The tenant names, events and rules are fictional; demand, willingness to pay and operational impact have not been validated.

What the demo makes tangible

The browser simulation shows two fictional tenants with different thresholds and review settings. A user changes a rule, publishes a new version, then runs a sample event to see the outcome and the rule version recorded in the activity history. Resetting the page restores the examples.

Design question

The interaction explores how to give a customer meaningful control without exposing an unbounded automation builder. Versioned settings and visible event history make changes easier to reason about; an optional human-review step provides a clear point of control.

Limits and next evidence

No workflow service, customer account, audit store, or third-party system is connected. The demo does not establish that target SaaS teams need this capability or that they would buy it. The next useful evidence would come from customer discovery around a specific recurring process, its failure cost, configuration ownership and current workaround.
